Tórshavn Marathon will be held on 9 June 2024. However, because of the union strike there will be a few adjustments.
Please note:
- On the refreshment stations there will be water and powerdrink from Bodylab. Where there would normally be bananas, there will be chocolates and other sweets.
- No public bus transport is available to and from the airport. It is however possible with some limitations to take an airport-shuttle. Read more here: https://www.fae.fo/to-and-from-the-airport/to-and-from-the-airport. We recommend that you contact the airport-shuttle before arrival for an update.
- The supermarkets are open, but the selections are limited. It is not possible to buy fruit and vegetables. Hotels and restaurants are open. Please contact your hotel for further information.
- If you plan to use energy-gels on your run, you should bring them from home, as they are sold out on the Faroes.
- Unfortunally all the finisher-medals for the ½ marathon have not arrived in the Faroes due to the strike. Therefore people residing on the Faroes may expect not to receive a finisher-medal, when they finish the run or walk. However they will receive a medal as soon as the strike is over. We will do everything possible to ensure that runners, not residing on the Faroes, and travelling to the Faroes for the run or walk the ½ marathon, receive a medal when finishing.
- Bib number pickup is at SMS Shopping Center in Tórshavn (address á Trapputrøð, 100 Tórshavn) on these changed times
- Friday 7 June 12-19pm.
- Saturday 8 June 10-18pm.
- People who live outside of Tórshavn and who have to save petrol etc., can pickup the bib number at Snarskivan (adress Vaglið, 100 Tórshavn) on Sunday 9 June from 10-12 am.
With these changes we look forward to welcoming you to Tórshavn Marathon 2024.
